The Public Diplomacy Division of the Ministry of the External Affairs in partnership with the Centre for Policy Research (CPR) organised India's first National level International Relations (IR) Conference on 22-23 October 2011 at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Hon'ble Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari inaugurated the conference.

The conference hosted over three hundred participants former ambassadors, members of the academia, journalists, government officials and students coming from all over the country.

The next edition of the conference will be held in 2012 and will be organised by an association of Indian IR academics along with the Public Diplomacy Division
